Contractor daily action report
A daily action report gives the owner a short, source-cited list of what needs approval, follow-up, or closure today.
What belongs in the daily report
The daily report is not a dashboard stuffed with metrics. It is the short list of actions that should not wait until the owner has time to dig through email.
- Money actions: estimate follow-ups, invoice backup, change-order decisions.
- Project actions: RFIs, submittals, owner questions, schedule blockers.
- Watch items: threads that are not urgent yet but need a date.
- Blocked items: actions waiting on a human decision.
Why Month 1 stays narrow
A daily report only works if the team trusts it. That trust is built by working one leak consistently before adding more workflows.
That is why the retainer starts with one named leak and one daily rhythm. Expansion has to earn its place.
